Lately, strange occurrences have been happening during construction at the Land of Illusion. Workers report seeing strange glowing orbs and eerie feelings when rebuilding one of LOI’s main attractions, Dr. Psycho’s Haunted Estate. Last night, it was reported that while building a new scene inside the attraction, a little girl in a flower-print dress could be seen running from room to room, moving worker’s tools, turning off animatronics, and lights. One local construction worker was relieved of his position after having a nervous breakdown when the home’s electricity failed a few evenings ago, for no explicable reason. “He felt like something or someone was chasing him through the house, and he said he could hear someone else moving through the house, though no one else was working in there at the time,” said one year-round employee who was present for the occurrence.
“The building that the attraction is housed in pre-dates the park by almost two hundred years,” said park owner Brett Oakley. Oakley continues, “We haven’t experienced many problems before this year, when we’ve ripped out pieces of the original structure in our attempt to remake the attraction. The house has a dark history that we’ve barely touched on, maybe it wasn’t the greatest idea to use this structure for our haunted house.”
LOI’s own media team was on scene a few days ago, cataloging various set designs for reference inside the Haunted Estate. “We caught something on camera that we’re having a hard time explaining,” says the media team, “it definitely warrants a deeper investigation. I’m going out there with a camera man and we’re going to see if we can’t catch this thing on film again.”
“Its getting to the point that I won’t send my guys in there at night” said one local construction foreman. Workers are trying to get the majority of the work done during the days, so they don’t have to enter the house at night. “It isn’t about superstition, there is something wrong with that place,” he added.
LOI’s media team will be heading out to the house for a special investigation of these occurrences. It turns out LOI may have its very own REAL haunted house. Stay tuned for video from the evening we spend inside Dr. Psycho’s Haunted Estate. “It will be interesting to see what happens when we turn all the lights out and the attractions off and attempt to make real contact with this thing,” park owner Brett Oakley said.
