Ohio Valley Haunts Review
The Land of Illusion hits the jackpot with the “Haunted Theme Park” concept! Club Zombie and Voodoo Bayou Shanty are new attractions debuting in 2010, as is The Nest which has been incorporated into the Haunted Trail. Each is uniquely themed in keeping with the Land of Illusion tradition. But the real shocker is that the price of admission grants UNLIMITED access to all of the haunts, which means you can visit them as many times as you like!! That’s unheard of!!! VIP, front of the line admission is available for an additional $10, and is well worth the added expense considering the new unlimited access policy! These attractions are some of the most professional haunts the industry has to offer. Elaborate, animated props, too numerous to count are featured throughout, and complemented with fantastic soundtracks and lighting effects that challenge all the senses. Online ticketing is now available, and a special entrance gate has been established so that those purchasing tickets in advance don’t have to wait in long lines to enter the park. Bring a date, bring mom and dad, bring the kids, bring the whole family! Feel the warmth of the bonfire and enjoy a snack from the Creepy Cafe and spend the evening. The Trail and Dr. Psycho’s remain our personal favorites, and even they are a little different than their 2009 counterparts! Where else can you find this much to do all at the same location? And for such an affordable price! One can only admire the efficiency with which LOI handles the flow of large crowds, and the energy level maintained by their actors, who tirelessly repeat their performances basically non-stop hour after hour. Waiting areas are sheltered from the weather, and feature entertainment in the form of various horror segments broadcast on several TV’s. It’s all designed to make the time spent waiting in line more enjoyable, and each one is personalized to its individual haunt. The only drawback is that a single haunt ticked isn’t available for those wanting to visit the trail alone, but the Park stays open until 2 A.M. in order to allow visitors plenty of time to get through all the attractions. So what are you waiting for? Join the crowd at Land of Illusion! HINT: Ohio Valley Haunts recommends arriving early, visiting on Friday nights when crowds are a little smaller, and suggests hitting the Trail first as the line forms early and gets longer as the night goes on.
